Who We Are

At ISEE you can feel our classes and learn not only by talking to each other, but also by internalizing these concepts physically.

The ISEE Holistic Concept was created by its founder Dr. Rosalyn Dischiavo to facilitate a profound opening of our awareness while achieving the highest standards of professional development. We cover a variety of areas such as trauma, disability, culture, social justice, and spiritual approaches to sexuality. We believe that we learn best when we are having fun, examining ourselves, and when our whole bodies are engaged while challenging our minds.

The Institute for Sexuality Education & Enlightenment (ISEE) is a holistic professional and personal development institute that offers online and live classes, webinars and workshops intended for educators, counselors, therapists and health care professionals as well as others who wish to gain expertise in human sexuality. ISEE offers certificate programs as well as á la carte learning opportunities.

The Institute has a large library of recorded webinars and as well as live and streaming classes. Nationally known and respected instructors offer exceptional academic information combined with holistic methods to help participants to integrate a mind-body-spirit approach, keeping a close eye on issues of social justice via hiring, training, vendor relationships, class content and policy making.

Anyone over 18 years old may take a class or webinar with ISEE, whether you are interested in certification or just to increase your knowledge base. If you think you may be interested in certification, please see our certificate program information page.

A Holistic approach

ISEE is different from other programs in that we offer a mind-body-spirit approach that integrates all of the parts of a person not only in the content of what you learn, but also in the process of your learning.

  • MIND: ISEE offers the very best instructors in the field of sexuality today. Faculty are professionals with years of experience teaching as well as practicing their craft. They are known for their open minds, our faculty is constantly learning.
  • BODY: Sexuality is all about the body, and we teach sex-positivity as well as using an embodied approach to your learning. Whether you are at an in-person class, a streaming class online, or taking a recorded webinar, you’ll be encouraged to participate in movement, crafts, music, breathwork, and check-ins to make sure that you are integrating your learning and while being grounded in self-care. In this process, you’ll learn how to bring these approaches to clients or students.
  • HEART: At ISEE, we encourage self-reflection and self-inquiry, to be deeply in touch with your emotional responses to the material as well as having the most pleasure you can in a professional learning environment.
  • SPIRIT: Your values, dreams, visions for the future and beliefs are all respected here. ISEE has had students who are atheist, pagan, spiritual, Orthodox/observant Jewish, Baptist, 12-Step members, Muslim and LDS, to name a few. You are encouraged to explore your learning from your own value system, and to practice your own ways of knowing through lived experience.

Social Justice and Commitment to Anti-racism, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility

The Institute for Sexuality Education and Enlightenment is committed to the continuous movement of a sustainable system of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI). The ISEE Sustainable Justice Policy is a living document that guides our Institute. Some of the ways we practice this are:

  • In recognition of the importance of BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and/or Person of Color) leaders in the fields of sexual health, sexual wellness, sexual freedom, and sexual and reproductive justice, ISEE offers BIPOC equity scholarship to any person who is Black, Indigenous, and/or a Person of Color.
  • Centering BIPOC voices in the field through hiring and contracting of faculty,  staff, moderators and teaching assistants.
  • Commitment to, and incorporation of, anti-racism, social justice, and diversity, equity, inclusion and representation into all of our classes as content as well as community processes.
  • Improving accessibility for people with disabilities.
  • Use of Black and BIPOC owned businesses as vendors.

ISEE is an approved organizational provider of continuing education for the American Association for Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). Most ISEE classes offer AASECT CE’s that can be used for initial certification or for recertification. ISEE full certificate programs (HSET and the Holistic Sex Therapy Training Program) offer all CE’s necessary for AASECT Certification. Receiving CEs does not guarantee AASECT certification.
